Direction of NPC

In February 2024, the leadership at NPC shared a new statement of direction. This wasn’t meant to be a typical "vision statement," but more of a way to guide everything we do as a church. We believe that Jesus is our vision—and becoming more like Him is what we're all about. When we look at His life, it’s clear He was always building community. So, we’ve made it our mission to do the same—wherever we go.

You’ll find more details about our statement of direction in the section below.

The Value of Community

People often describe church as a community of faith, offering connection, purpose, and a meaningful place for many. We also recognize that there are many other community settings that also hold significance.

We believe our local community (Norwood, ON) isn’t just a geographical setting; it’s made up of real people that God has placed us among to influence with the love and grace of the gospel. We believe that ministry doesn’t just happen inside the church—it starts right here in our neighbourhoods. Whether it's joining local groups, coaching a team, volunteering at the food bank, or helping out at town events, there are so many opportunities that we can be part of to build up Norwood. This also applies to the growing number of communities from which people travel to be a part of our community of faith.

We also believe that the household of a believer is it’s own community and as a church we want to support and encourage families to grow closer to Jesus together—just like we see in the early church in Acts, where believers gathered in each other’s homes and did life together. God created us for community (oneness), not to be an island (otherness).

Community grows in other structures of our lives like the school that you (or your children attend), sports teams, workplaces, hobbies, or local clubs. Every one of these is a community—and whether you're there with intention or seeming coincidence, you have the opportunity to make a difference and build community through encouragement, influence, and purpose.

God has called NPC to build communities together and we have a firm belief that everyone who calls NPC home is gifted and called to uplift others. We invite you to join us as we help people experience the freedom of Jesus as we build communities, together.
