Many people refer to the church as a community of faith. This is a crucial structure to our existence and serves as a valuable setting for all who visit. However, many other community settings also hold significance.

We believe that our local community (Norwood, ON) is not just a geographical setting, but is a group of people we have been placed among to influence with the love and grace of the gospel. 

We also believe this local community is where the church begins to do the work of ministry. Joining local groups, coaching sports teams, volunteering at the food bank, and stepping up to help with local events are among the many opportunities we can build Norwood. This also applies to the growing number of communities from which people travel to be part of our community of faith.

We believe the household of the believer is a community, and that the church should work with each one to grow the family closer to Christ. We see this in the book of Acts with the early church as they met together daily in each other's homes. God created us for community (oneness), not to be an island (otherness).

The communities we involve ourselves in grow from here: the school you (or your children) attend, teams and clubs, advisory committees, your workplace, hobbies and sports. The idea here is that anywhere you gather with other people, by intention of a seeming coincidence, this is a community you have the opportunity to build by encouragement, influence and purpose. 

God has called NPC to build communities together. You will hear this mentioned often, as we have a firm belief that everyone who calls NPC home is gifted and called to uplift others. We invite you to join us in this endeavour, as we strive to build our communities and help people experience the freedom of Jesus.
